Southern Heritage in a nutshell

I wish there were words to describe the two week 'tour of the south' I just finished. Inexplicable is the only one I'm coming up with....

here's a list of facts to give you an idea of what I just survived (or enjoyed, take your pick):
a roomate who came home drunk one night,
6 states in 13 days,
around 6 days of 6+ hours in a charter bus,
25 people I didn't know a month ago,
2 weeks of unlimited time with my darling,
14 days of being where they wanted me,
14 days of making no plans of my own,
14 days of 15+ hours with these strangers,
a prof who hooked up with a student,
a recently broken up couple that hooked up with strangers,
endless questions on why I'm not engaged,
cajun cooking,
cajun dancing,
speaking with a French couple ENTIRELY IN FRENCH (go me!),
missing my roomates,
making lovely new friends,
watching someone else's favorite movies,
learning to sleep on a bus,
meeting a participant in the largest action of the civil rights movement,
learning about how crappy white people are,
several 2 hours tours of civil war battlefields,
a 21rst birthday...with no party,
Indian food,
2 new CDs (white stripes and Jack Johnson)

all in all: fun but tiring. It's good to be home.
