me 101....
1. I was born in an Air Force Base (Wright-Patt, to be exact) 2. My parents were Marines/drug addicts 3. They will both tell you the marriage didn't last because of my mom's abuse of all things 4. Mental illness runs in my family 5. My dad's entire family are alcoholics. 6. As are my mom's (although many of them have 'recovered') 7. Thus, I don't touch the stuff 8. Well, not entirely true, I do touch it, but only when sipping someone's frou-frou drink, and only when it's the 4 of us. 9. I don't even sip someone's drink in public 10. At 3, I got my first brother (courtesy of dad and step-mom) 11. They married 2 years later 12. At 6 1/2, I got my second little brother (courtesy of mom and abusive boyfriend) 13. On my mom's 26th birthday (while she was pregnant with bro #2) she was sent to hospital after he tried to drown her in toilet 14. I lived with my Grams for almost a year 15. I thought my mom was on vacation in Hawai'i, without me. 16. I was sure she was never coming back 17. She came back, we got a little house, without men, and started going to church 18. She got saved when I was seven 19. I was raised very strictly pentacostal 20. The only movies I watched until Junior High were the Hug-A-Bunch movie and Adventures in Babysitting 21. After praying about it, my mom threw out Adventures of Babysitting, because of the language 22. Thus, I have never seen any Karate Kid or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or any of those other 'violent' movies that defined my generation 23. Elisha was my best friend since age 8 24. Except she thought she was better than me (bloody still-married parents) 25. I prayed and prayed to be filled with the Holy Ghost, It was almost all my diaries consisted of 26. I won a Bible at 9 for memorizing all the books of the Bible 27. I couldn't wait to learn to read 28. Once I did, I never stopped 29. I never got grounded from playing or TV, no sir, my punishment: no books for a week 30. My mom was monumentally strict, unyielding, and unprepared to be an adult 31. My mom is amazing, kind, and nurturing. 32. I've visited my father in California every summer by myself since I was 6. 33. I love the Pacific Ocean 34. My first church broke up because of a gay boy, the same boy that made out with all the girls in the youth group 35. Thank God I was too young for him 36. Mom and Scott met at new church in Aug. 37. Mom and Scott got married in December. 38. With Scott came bro #3, the step-brother, same age as #2 39. When we went on a family vacation, my best friend, Jamie came 40. She was my friend even after hearing the terrifying arguments 41. She didn't laugh when brothers #2and #3 were caught masturbating in back of van 42. Jamie is great, wonderful, shockingly insightful 43. This 3rd (and so far, final) marriage created the two most beautiful things in my life, Troy and Dylan. 44. Actually, my life has 3 beautiful things and since all of them are boys, i often say that I looove boys, all the while believing they are stupid and fickle. 45. I've had a total of 3 boyfriends 46. I only cared about boys when I needed to escape the domestic disturbances of my home life 47. I worked at McDonald's for 2 years 48. I kissed in the walk-in freezer 49. Mr. Freezer told customers we were getting married 'next week'. 50. I went to his hotel room. 51. It's the most rebellious thing I've ever done 52. McDonald boy #2 taught me to expect a lot from the men in my life 53. He taught me about honesty 54. He's married now, with children 55. I was almost expelled from school for sleeping in the boys room during an Orchestra trip 56. I was in bed (sleeping) with my friend Tim 57. Turns out, he's gay 58. He only figured this out after dating my best friend, telling me he had loved me, and still managing to never be kissed 59. Until Dave came along, Dave, the youth pastor 60. I've noticed how homosexually seems to be an underlying theme in churches 61. Remember the gay boy from my first church? He ended up at my second one, and ran off with the piano player... 62. Starting the Jan. after my mom's wedding I started a countdown 63. I could not wait to move away or just out, or just someplace quiet 64. Tennesse met all of the above 65. I still live with the girls from my first dorm 66. For once, I wasn't making friends or being social to stay away from home. 67. I fell in love for the first time at 19. 68. I'm still in love. 69. This (2 years) is my longest, and only serious relationship 70. My mom loves him 71. My best friend loves him 72. My roomates compare their boyfriends to him (don't deny it) 73. I want to never quit school 74. I would like to leave Tennessee 75. I want to get my doctorate, preferrably before I get my family 76. I want to translate for a missionary 77. Or a diplomat in the UN 78. I want to teach (at Lee, or not) 79. One day, I will speak 4 languages 80. And translate French poetry (Prévert, i hope) 81. Jamie and I want to own an art gallery (for her works), a bookstore, and a coffeeshop (for my addiction) 82. Speaking of addictions, I never have smoked anything other than one clove (shared with Jay) and one Swisher Sweet (shared with girls, probably got two puffs) 83. I have an ongoing list of books to read 84. I read all of the Anne of Green Gables books in 5th grade 85. I always ask for books for Christmas, nothing else (well, and money) 86. I currently owe my bank more than $50, my credit card company, and, of course, my car loan 87. God has always provided 88. I came to college on a scholarship, 89. I've stayed only because of the scholarhip 90. I'm a waitress, no, server 91. My spiritual gifts? hospitality, prayer and counsel 92. I love people more than I can say, I love everything about their personalities, their minds and their idiosyncrancies 93. I hate (with a passion) customers and hungry people 94. I love to drive, 95. Preferrably a Bug or a Mini 96. I've never been the cute one 97. but usually the smart one 98. I love to cook 99. I taught myself to knit 100. my entire life, philosophy, direction is based on what I believe to be God's will for my life 101. I just wish He would be a little more clear soemtimes - on 2003-04-04 at 1:57 p.m.
