Savannahhhhh

My second spring break winds down and the monotonous drone of the institution threatens to drown out my 'vraie vie', or true life.

But, oh my, that 48 hours of southern hospitality (from the 'Hostess City of the South') was enough happiness to last all spring.

My darling friend and confidante joined me in Cleveland for 2 days before we left for Savannah. We slept cheaply (and quickly) and walked our feet off, only to replenish them in the green 'squares' of the historic district. We survived on Ben & Jerry's (2 of my favorite men), Gelato, PB on white bread and street performances. We found the Atlantic Ocean, jumped in, then watched the bright blue change to a deep green.

We were happy. Inexplicably, undescribably happy.

(we created an opera of our experience. do not ask us to perform this unless we are intoxicated with salty night air, $3 ice cream, and Mamma Cass.)
