when the word was 'gossip' the taboo clue was 'girls do this a lot'

First day of classes...and one of 4 was cancelled. YAY!

i've discovered that the 'friend' who has so recently been behaving horribly has a social problem. She can only connect to others through a mutual dislike of someone else. All last sememster when she vent about our other friends, i just assumed that little things had built up until she couldnt stand it anymore. Towards the end, I couldnt stand it anymore and i refused to participate in bashing the lifestyles and choices of those i love. our friendship suffered. after a long, healing break we came back in better spirits, in hopes our friendship would be restored. It took two weeks for something to set her off, but the 2 hour conversation of last night was the effect. she was upset with someone close to her and she started a bitter diatribe against any beautiful quality this person might possess. i was sad, and unable to join her in the condenming. instead, i encouraged her, built up her friend and fave her advice on confronting this person (instead of steaming silently as is her usual mode of conversation). i must say, i feel better about myself as a child of God because of this. and i'm more certain of my friendship with this girl not being detrimental. i can keep myself from gossip and i can fight against it.
