she waxes philosophical about her career path

So I'm not being very clever and I do prefer to be clever here.
Ok, so if you didn't know, I manage a paint-your-own-pottery studio. As in, I'm the one running it: buying the bisque, office supplies, toilet paper; hiring, firing, giving evaluations; depositing cash and checks; completing expense reports every month. All in all, still pretty fun. I'm friends with my employees and I get to paint, well, pretty much weekly.
But the question of the decade: what about grad school? Well, here's the thing: I've always had two goals but have just focused on the one, because that's the one I've been working on: being a French prof. The other goal is equally appealing: owning my own bookstore. And this would be the goal that I'm workikng on now. Running the studio is giving me the experience I need to have my own shop. Now this doesn't mean that grad school is out of the question...it just means that it's not happening right now.
This is actually the only thing going on with me...I've been working through it, trying to figure out..this is just such a weird thing-to be out of school, with no visible path to where I want to go laid before me...I don't think Jay and I are the kinda people that just go from one thing to the next, moving up and towards our next goal. We need a bit of time to figure it all out, to set our course for our life together...cheesy, I know. But it's real. and real is our goal.
